Supporting 113 Wind Turbines Through Kaskinen Port

In 2023–2024, a total of 113 wind turbines passed through the Port of Kaskinen – a significant milestone not only for the Finnish renewable energy sector but also for our team. We are proud to have played a key role in the successful delivery and handling of these components by providing marine surveying, cargo surveying, and port logistics consulting services throughout the entire project cycle.

Expert Surveying: From Sea to Shore

As marine surveyors and cargo surveyors, we ensured the safe and compliant handling of all wind turbine components as they arrived by sea. Our team inspected vessels, verified cargo conditions, and made certain that all operations met international standards and client-specific requirements. The sheer scale and complexity of the wind turbine components demanded precision at every stage — from offloading to temporary storage and onward transportation.

Smart Logistics Consulting for Port Operations

Our involvement extended far beyond surveys. We were trusted consultants to the end customer, offering tailored port logistics planning and design. This included creating storage layout plans that maximized efficiency and minimized unnecessary handling. Each layout was carefully modeled using advanced 3D design tools, backed by aerial insights collected with drones. These tools allowed us to visualize the real-world impact of various layout options and select the most optimal solution based on vessel schedules, cargo volumes, and space constraints.

No Off-Season for Us – We Work Year-Round

The project ran throughout the year, often in harsh and unpredictable Finnish weather. Snow, ice, and wind are challenges we’re familiar with — and well-prepared for. Our team is fully equipped to operate in winter conditions, ensuring that timelines are met regardless of the season. Our experience in cold-climate logistics gives our clients confidence that operations won't stop when the weather changes.

A Seamless Logistics Journey

Despite the size and complexity of the wind turbine component deliveries, the logistics chain operated smoothly from start to finish. Our holistic approach, from initial surveys to consulting and layout planning, contributed significantly to the overall success of the project. We are proud of our role in bringing clean energy infrastructure closer to completion.
